So I came across something online today; a 5 minute makeup challenge.
That sounded like fun. So despite the fact that I had nothing on my face today besides moisturizer and sunscreen, I gave it a whirl.
Let me tell you from the perspective of a girl who has a lot of acne and hyperpigmentation issues that doing full blown makeup in 5 minutes is not easy. I usually spend 5 minutes everyday just on putting on foundation and concealer before going to work. Otherwise, I go to work without much makeup because I wake up insanely early and would rather sacrifice how I look for an extra five minutes of sleep. So, this is me trying to throw my entire makeup routine (okay, it's really just my weekend makeup routine) on in the span of 5 minutes on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Okay, I admit that I spent 2.25 minutes on my foundation and concealer. And then I spent 10 seconds trying to find a pencil liner, 30 seconds lining my upper lashes and 1/3 of my lower lashes. Then I spent 30 seconds trying to find a shadow brush. And eye shadow, I just discovered, takes more than a minute to put on. This all took me 4 minutes and 57 seconds. And I kind of effed up my eyeshadow. I realized I forgot lipstick afterwards... Which is silly because lipstick is my favorite makeup item.
I found that the reason it took me so long was because I was trying to find things half the time. I spent nearly a minute just trying to find things. So clearly, the trick to doing quick makeup is to have everything ready to go and lined up. This can easily be achieved if you either have a small and simple makeup collection or an extremely organized one. And then you need to line everything in front of you.
I'm going to try this again; but today isn't the day to do it.
